In this section of the Digital Learning and Leading program, I am learning about Disruptive Innovation and looking for ways it can serve as a catalyst for learning. The goal for this section is to create an Innovation Plan and support it with a Literature Review. The chosen audience for this Education Innovation Project is women who are economically at-risk.
What is Disruptive Innovation? Disruptive Innovation is the great equalizer when it comes to human access to goods, services and education. According to Clay Christensen, truly disruptive innovations will transform things that are complicated, expensive and inaccessible into things that are simple, inexpensive and accessible (Clayton Christensen Institute, 2014). In business it is a method for exploring and creating new markets, in education it is a method for implementing new education and learning environments that offer opportunities to groups that typically lack them.
