The L3 Professional Development – A Call to Action
This is a blanket call to action for trainers, participants and potential investors I call them all "Fate Changers" because as a group, we all have the ability, through working together to change the fate of America's low-income single moms and their children, some of us by giving, some by teaching and others by learning and receiving. Right now I am on a mission to create a culture of radical collaboration and social support that will change the way we view low-income single-mothers and their value to the America. I am on a mission to find and unite "Fate Changers!"
Leap, Learn, Live is Powering-up with PowerPoint
Digital Learning and Leading is all about adopting and adapting the right amount of innovative technology to create engaging, learning inspiring environments for learners. For my Professional Learning “Why” project, I chose PowerPoint because it allows me to use my own voice with visuals in a structured manner. Based on the output I am sure anyone can recognize that I still have a lot to learn about using the voice and video parts, and well the whole program. Even with my own user shortcomings, I was able to create a presentation that I can easily revise. To me that is the beauty of PowerPoint, it allows me to create living documents and as a start-up, I think I need that.
PowerPoint is versatile PowerPoint allows me to tell stories, deliver reports and create virtual, interactive texts books. I always knew it was a powerful communication tool that would allow me to create engaging presentations, but now I plan to use it to create powerful Professional Learning (PL) (Gulamhussein, 2013) assets for my students. When used to the fullest extent, I believe I can create learning modules based on Fink’s Taxonomy for Significant Learning (2003) that can be easily modified and updated as things change. Because this program is a start-up I know, I will be learning as I go in many cases, so I like the flexibility PowerPoint offers.
Becoming a Powerful PowerPoint User For presentation purposes, I like that I can convert my PowerPoints to mp4 videos that I can add right to my YouTube channel. Right now the biggest thing for me to focus on is honing my video development skills and developing my presentation and lesson design and development skills. The more I use it and all of the cool functions, the better I will become at it. The same thing holds for my video and voice skills.
PowerPoint End-User Friendly Creating my end product, the video here, took me about ten to twelve hours, because in many ways, I was learning as I went. As I begin to produce more presentations and my classes, I know the time will get cut in half.
